Google Analytics
Google Analytics provides free, powerful tools to analyze your business data in one centralized location, enabling you to make smarter, data-driven decisions. Once you've completed your Google Tag Manager settings with Analytics ID, you can monitor a wide range of visitor activities within Google Analytics, including location, visiting hours, landing pages, link sources, and much more.

Google Analytics Setup
Setting up Google Analytics is the first step to gathering data. This typically involves creating a new property and configuring its initial settings.
Set up a Data Stream
After creating your Google Analytics property, you'll need to set up a data stream, which is how data from your website is collected and sent to Analytics.
Google Analytics ID
Your Google Analytics ID (often referred to as a Measurement ID for GA4 properties) is a unique identifier that connects your website data to your Google Analytics property. You will need this ID for your Google Tag Manager settings with Analytics ID.

Google Tag Manager (GTM) offers a simple, reliable, and easily integrated solution for managing all your website tags without directly editing code. This powerful tool is central to simplifying your tracking setup, especially when working with your Google Tag Manager settings with Analytics ID.

Create Account
The first step in configuring your Google Tag Manager settings with Analytics ID is to create a Google Tag Manager account and a container for your website.
Install onto Your Website
Once your account and container are set up, you'll need to install the Google Tag Manager container snippet onto your website. This typically involves placing a small piece of code in the <head> and <body> sections of your website's HTML.
Add a New Tag
With GTM installed, you can now add a new tag to connect your Google Analytics. This is a core part of your Google Tag Manager settings with Analytics ID.
Tag Configuration
- Choose a tag type, specifically Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration for modern setups.
- Input your Measurement ID, which is your Google Analytics ID.
Add a Measurement ID
To add your Measurement ID, you can create a new variable. Go to Variable Configuration, choose "Constant," and then enter your Google Analytics ID.
This Measurement ID ensures that the data collected by Google Tag Manager is sent to the correct Google Analytics property.
Choose a Trigger: All Pages
For basic Google Analytics tracking, choose "All Pages" as your trigger. This ensures that the Google Analytics tag fires on every page of your website.
Proper tag configuration is vital for accurate data collection.
Submit and Finish
After configuring your tag and trigger, submit your changes in Google Tag Manager by clicking the "Submit" button. Once your Tag Manager changes are published, revisit your website and begin monitoring visitor activity on Google Analytics to confirm everything is working correctly.
